Mitchie Brusco is a professional skateboarder from the United States. He began skateboarding at the age of three in Kirkland, Washington, and quickly gained notoriety and recognition as a young skateboarding talent. In competition, Brusco is the first skateboarder in history to land 1260, a skateboard trick in which the rider performs three-and-a-half revolutions in the air before landing. Other records including the 1080 and the 900 have also been held by him.

When Hawk delivered the first-ever 900 to the X Games in 1999, Brusco was approximately two years old, and he recalls getting his first skateboard not long after when he was three. Hawk initially noticed him when he was five years old and began receiving media attention as a young skateboard prodigy. He began skating Hawk’s private vert ramp at the age of 13 and received informal coaching from his lifetime hero.

1080 was only good enough for the second step of the podium in Barcelona, behind Big Air king Bob Burnquist. Brusco has been practicing for three years at Burnquist’s backyard MegaRamp and understands it will take something exceptional to beat him, and not only on the quarterpipe. Furthermore, according to Brusco, he’s been refocusing his efforts on the halfpipe. He’ll compete in the Big Air competition this week in Austin, but says capturing gold in Vert is his ultimate aim. To get there, he’ll have to beat over Bucky Lasek, a longtime mentor who won all four X Games Vert events in 2013.
